- Koenigsegg has once again hit the headlines this time for its 2016 Regra. The hypercar has been described by its maker, Christian von Koenigsegg who simply states that ” only car capable of beating his new Regera is… another Koenigsegg” . The word ‘Regera’ – translates as ‘to reign’ in Swedish.
- Exteriors: The Regra remains unique for Koenigsegg, as its almost entirely built in-house and with no professional designers, with an objective to be a more luxurious alternative to the existing Ageramodel. From the front, it does look very different from its siblins in the Koenigsegg line up. The side and rear profiles are dominated by the aero channels and the huge deployable rear wing.
- Interiors: The Regera looks plush and spacious on the inside. It boasts a big 9.1 inch central display screen even features Apple CarPlay and six-way adjustable carbon memory seats, too.
- Power: It uses both a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine , which outputs and three electric motors for a total combined output of close to 1800bhp and 1475lb ft of torque. The electric motors alone output 700bhp, while the 5.0-liter V-8 engine outputs
- The Regera is rear wheel drive only, so 0-62mph takes a relatively tardy 2.7 seconds. “We can’t go any faster than that because of traction,” Christian says. 0-186mph takes 12 seconds flat, while 0-250mph takes under 20 seconds. It’ll go from 93mph to 155mph in just 3.2 seconds, and top out at 255mph. Let those numbers swirl around your head for a moment.Because it’s a petrol-electric hybrid, you can travel up to around 18 miles on pure electric power alone,Koenigsegg reckons on an output somewhere close to 1800bhp and 1475lb ft of torque.
- Price: The Koenigsegg Regera’s base price is $1,890,000 – which is just over £1.2m and production will be limited to 80 models
